This three-storey corner terrace sports contemporary interiors that are simple and timeless, thanks to John Foo and Wilson Teh, the managing director and executive director respectively, of Rezt & Relax Interior. It is home to a couple and their two daughters. Leading up to the main door of the house, the walkway is given a resort-look treatment of tiles laid over pebblewash; while the dividing wall is clad with tiles in earthy tones from Hafary. The random pop-out effect of the tiles create additional texture. Entering the house, marble flooring underfoot gives the interior a luxurious ambience. To maximise the amount of natural light in the living area and open up views towards the garden and pool, John and Wilson replaced a part of the wall with glass panels. The large and elegant-looking sofa from Massimmo Living allows the family to enjoy the space together. The design of the false ceiling allows recessed lighting to softly illuminate the space – it functions as a decorative feature, too, one that is echoed in the ceiling treatment of the dining area.
Bi-fold doors replace the original wall of the dining area to allow natural light and ventilation in from the outdoors, and provide a full view of the pool. The sunlight also illuminates the open-concept dry kitchen. The study is located next to the dining area; and to ensure that its users never feel sleepy here, fire-engine red cabinet panels and matching chairs are used. For the master bedroom on the second level, John and Wilson designed a tufted fullheight headboard to create a luxurious and elegant look for the room. Darker colours are used for the dresser and curtains, to provide a sense of intimacy and relaxation. On the top floor, the daughter’s favourite colours – red and pink – were incorporated into her room. Wall decals on the wall and glass wall panel give a decorative, personalised touch.
