BENETEAU WILL STAGE the world premieres of its Oceanis 51.1 sailing yacht and Gran Turismo 50 motor yacht, in both Hardtop and Sport fly versions, at the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 12-17).

As Beneteau celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Oceanis range, the 15.9m 51.1 features a stepped hull, extending over a third of the hull.

Olivier Racoupeau was responsible for the naval architecture, which created extra interior space without changing the shape of the bottom.

Nauta Design handled the exterior lines and interiors.

The furling mast, self-tacking jib and all the hal yards and sheets are brought back to a single winch at each of the helm stations for easier sailing, while Dock & Go technology helps harbour manoeuvring. The vessel offers four different interior layouts, five rigging plans and three different keel types.

The renewed GT50 is a collaboration between Beneteau Power, Nuvolari-Lenard and Andreani Design. The vessel is equipped with the Air Step2 planing hull, developed together with Volvo.

The GT50 is the first model from the French shipyard to be fitted with new onboard ship control technology. Inspired by similar equipment used in the car industry, the interface enables monitoring of the gauges and management of air-conditioning, navigation lights, indoor lights and the Hi-Fi system.

The GT50 Hardtop combines a retractable sun visor, side glazing that can be lowered and an opening roof. The Sport fly version has a second driving station and, beside it, a double bench seat that can convert to a sun-lounger, and a saloon seating up to five guests.
