French luxury candle makers Diptyque has finally set up a roost of its own in Singapore. If the tasteful combination of wood, brass and lush green framing the cosy 423 sq ft boutique doesn’t invite you in, surely the heady scents wafting from the warmly slit interior will.

Here, live plants surround the plethora of products. There are bell jars that, when upturned, disburse whiff s of Diptyque perfume – the brand’s been making those for 50 years. Its candles are poured by hand in Paris, via an arduous 12-step process, with a wax formula tailored to match each specific blend. And for these, rare implements like snuff ers and wick trimmers are available. Even the wrapping process is elaborate. The space is neat, comely and well-thought out – and a great pit-stop for last-minute gifting, should the situation call for it. #B1-33A, Ngee Ann City.

BEAUTY IN A BOTTLE
We scratched our heads when we popped open a box of D’skin’s new Super-skin Ampoules. The glass vials were seamlessly sealed and there seemed no way to extract their brightly coloured contents. Turns out a quick snap of the “neck”, engineered for a clean break, sufficed – and well worth the effort, too. The Super Moisture Ampoule, in particular, delivered hydrating and plumping results that lasted a full workday, and there was enough amber fluid left in the vial to coat the oft-neglected neck area. Available at www.dskinlab.com and D’skin outlets.

DOUBLING DOWN

Paris-based Lierac's latest solution to dark spots ticks all the boxes to earn its place in the daily skincare regimen. The creams in the Lumilogie Double Concentrate are nongreasy and easily absorbed, leaving no residue and exuding agreeable, neutral scents. They also come in a handy split bottle so you don't have to fumble with two products. The concentrates bring to bear botanical and active ingredients that aim to stimulate cell renewal and slow melanin production, in order to combat existing or developing dark spots, while moisturising the skin.

 Available at Robinsons, The Heeren.

TRIPLE THREAT
Why wait for day-to-day exposure to radiation and pollution to culminate in lacklustre hair? Phyto’s new range of haircare products, Phytodensia, promises to preserve the youthful state of your crown and even return a measure of it to damaged hair. The approach is three-pronged: The sulphate-free shampoo cleanses the hair and leaves it as a canvas for the plumping mask. The HLA and collagen-infused mask gets to work on the fibres and cuticles. Finish with a scalp application of the nonoily serum to nourish and protect the roots. Available at Beauty by Nature, #B3-49/50, Ion Orchard.
