Fillers used to have a reputation for creating cartoonish, blown-up lips and puffy faces, but not anymore.

Commonly used for facial remodelling and wrinkle reduction, they are injected into specific areas that need plumping up, such as deep wrinkles or hollow cheeks, to restore a soft, youthful appearance. Fillers can also be used to enhance the chin, nose and cheekbones, giving flat features a more prominent contour.
GIVE YOU FIRM, RADIANT SKIN
One of Prive Clinic’s most popular filler treatments is the Dew Drops Skinbooster ($1,070 nett), where small, precise amounts of hyaluronic acid are injected repeatedly into the whole face.
“Hyaluronic acid molecules can retain the weight of moisture up to 1,000 times their own weight, so the treatment is akin to having a moisturising mask placed right under the surface of the skin,” says Dr Soh.
More effective than applying moisturising skincare, which has to bypass the many layers of cell walls to be absorbed, the treatment is also said to restore skin elasticity, refine skin texture and give you a healthy, dewy glow.
BOOST COLLAGEN PRODUCTION
A lesser-known function of fillers is their ability to stimulate collagen synthesis in order to minimise the appearance of the signs of ageing.
For this, a filler containing poly-Llactic acid (PLLA), which purportedly triggers collagen production in order to help restore its inner structure and volume, and smooth out folds as well as wrinkles, is injected. As collagen takes time to reproduce, the effects are more subtle and gradual. The cost of fillers for the face is $800 nett per area.
