Our favourite male celebs clue us in on what they’ve been up to lately, pg 82
I love our pink masthead on this issue’s cover. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, it seems only natural that Her World supports this campaign to remind women of the importance of regular self-checks and early screenings. With most of us still working from home, I find that frequent breast self-examination is a lot more achievable. We’re constantly in the comfort and privacy of our homes, so there’s no excuse that we can only do it when we’re in the shower.
On page 118, breast cancer survivor Oh Mei Qi tells us how she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, plus her journey with chemotherapy and IVF as cancer poses a risk of infertility. And she’s only 29.
Mei Qi’s tale of resilience is echoed by our 20 Good Men (page 82), albeit in a different context. Our cover star Lawrence Wong and other entertainment personalities share how this year has overturned some of their long-term plans, how they’ve managed to pursue their creative projects despite limitations and, more importantly, how they’ve grown through these unprecedented times.
