MOUNT COOK, NEW ZEALAND
We went glacier walking and climbed a steep ice wall with an ice axe and special boots. At around 10m, it wasn’t that high, but it felt like 100m. I panicked but there was no turning back. Forging ahead, I eventually reached the top.

GULF OF NAPLES, CAPRI, ITALY
On a family trip to Capri, my son and I noticed persistent streaks on the water and debated its cause. His proposed that water passing through a boat’s engine is discharged with some residual oil, hence changing the tension of the water surface and marking it with streaks. At that moment, I knew my son had a clear aptitude for science.

HUANGSHAN, CHINA

In 1994, we went to Huangshan, a mountain in China famed for its strange, odd-shaped stones. It took us six hours to reach the peak, 1,800m above sea level. Up there, we looked down at a sea of clouds. That was unforgettable.
