The 850Nm of torque from the 4.1-litre turbo- diesel V8 of a Porsche Cayenne S Diesel towed an Airbus A380 for 42 metres to set a new Guiness World Record for “Heaviest aircraft pulled by a production car”.  The SUV was a standard vehicle, with only a special towing hitch on its tow bar.

Air France provided the gigantic 285-tonne airliner and a massive hangar at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport for the successful record-breaking attempt. The previous record was set in 2013 by a 5.6-litre V8 Nissan Patrol, which dragged a 170-tonne Ilyushin IL-76 cargo plane for 50 metres.
