HEADING WEST

Even as many members of the Western fashion establishment looked to the East when creating their chinoiserie-inspired looks this season, the designers at Chinese luxury fashion brand Shanghai Tang had European resort lifestyles on their minds when creating the brand’s spring collection. Laidback tailoring and the colours of the French Riviera (or any other pretty coastline, really) come together with elements of Chinese tailoring (think mandarin collars), resulting in a collection that makes a strong case for crossing boundaries.
