MEMENTO MORI

In a dramatic departure from other watches in HYT’s Skull collection, the new Skull Vida by the “hydro mechanical horologists” features a decidedly more poignant dial design using mammoth ivory. Time-telling follows others in the collection: a thin capillary tube follows the outline of the skull motif, with the level of the black liquid indicating (only) the hours. It’s a complex system, so the titanium case comes in understandably generous dimensions of 51mm by 18mm. Each of the five pieces made comes with an embroidered fabric strap.
