HAVE BREAKFAST.

Star t the day at W.E. Cafe (#02-441/442, tel: 6837-0287), a little hole-in-the-wall joint located between the Convention Centre and Tower Two. It offers a hear ty all-day brunch, sandwiches and other breakfast foods – think fluffy, moist scrambled eggs served with syrupcovered waffles and juicy chicken sausages.

If a local breakfast is more your style, there’s Ya Kun Kaya Toast (#B1- 104, tel: 6337-6829), AJ’s Teh Tarik (#B1-141) or Qiji (#B1-139, tel: 6283- 8572) for kaya toast, popiah and good ol’ kopi.

GET IN SOME PHOTO FUN.

Stuffed? It’s time to get moving. Head to Alive Museum (#03-372, tel: 6734- 8298) early to avoid the crowd. The 4-D museum from South Korea features over 80 interactive “live” paintings, with new ones added recently. Each painting allows you to pose within it, to be par t of the exhibition. Squeeze the whole family into the largerthan- life paper boat or sit astride a giant hummingbird for a great photo op. We especially appreciate how it marks out where the photographer should stand for the perfect picture.

GRAB LUNCH.

Our current go-to lunch option is the new Pasarbella (#01-455, tel: 6887-0077), where you have the best chance of finding your picky little eaters something yummy.

Share a meat platter ($50) from Mad Dog Bar and Grill or enjoy Rollie Olie’s generous crabmeat roll ($16.95) – torched and topped with heaps of roe, it is juicy and filling. Or warm bellies up with pho from An An. The Vietnamese eatery turns fresh, simple ingredients into delectable dishes. Must-try: the $29 platter of fresh vermicelli rolls, fried spring rolls and a refreshing salad.

For a grab-and-go lunch, try Wolf Burgers. In particular, the buttermilkfried chicken burger with salted-egg mayonnaise ($9.90) – delish! Get its crispy sweet potato fries and Horlicks milkshake to go along.

A refreshing option is the curiously shaped Squeezed burger ($4). The UFO-shaped brioche buns hide a sweet treat of yogurt, fruits, nuts and a variety of fillings. It’s a great snack the kids can munch on while you shop.

SHOP, SHOP, SHOP.

Now that your bellies are full, it’s time to shop. Here’s the plan: Drop the kids off at Cool De Sac (#02-379/80, tel: 6337- 0205), a giant play area for little ones. The kid-friendly space has a large jungle gym with slides, swings and life-sized foam blocks for creating structures. Just behind that, a dress-up area with costumes stands next to a Lego play area. Your little ones will be occupied long enough for you to shop.

Stop by Perth’s Key (#02-489, tel: 6336-2996), which offers Taiwanese beauty products designed for Asian skin, using natural ingredients from Perth. You can’t miss the store as it’s covered in greenery.

Along the way, stop by Tott (#02-427/428/435/437, tel: 6238-1578) to pick up some kitchenware (we love the cake moulds in different shapes and sizes) and check out the cooking classes on schedule.

Head to I Love Ballerina (#02-464, tel: 6238-7212), which specialises in ballet flats – the Simply Her team are big fans of this comfy shoe style. But don’t forget the Hubs – there’s Benjamin Barker (#02-420/421, tel: 6337-2888) for new work shirts, or Mporium (#01-477, tel: 6837-0566), where the both of you can browse through collections from local designers.

If your kids are outgrowing their clothes, stop by Privikids (#02-712, tel: 6238-8655) to get them something new to wear. The store carries a variety of high-quality brands at affordable prices, and toys, night lights, clocks and other accessories that will brighten up your child’s day.

Unwind after a long day at Spa Infinity (#02-486, tel: 6738-0069) – we love its couple and foot massages. Or get your nails done at Nail and Massage Addiction (#03-030, tel: 6333-8850), while Hubby gets a haircut at Salon Infinity (#02-496, tel: 6268-6277).

ENJOY DINNER.

Pick up the kids and end the day with a family meal. If ever yone is tired, the best place to head is a restaurant around the Fountain of Wealth. There, you can choose from a slew of eateries, without dragging aching feet from place to place. Our faves: Ichiban Boshi (#B1-111, tel: 6238-7088), Tony Roma’s (#B1-123, tel: 6337-9055), Paradise Inn (#B1-110, tel: 6336-4048), Muthu’s Curry (#B1-109/177, tel: 6835-7707) and Peperoni Pizzeria (#B1-130, tel: 6884-7737).
