Diners get to enjoy stunning city views as they dig into their meals.

The Ophir-Rochor area recently welcomed a high-profile neighbour, The Duo, a mixed-use development in the shape of a gleaming curvilinear twin-tower with a honeycomb facade. Crowning the office block, Duo Tower, is yet another new face in town – the Andaz Singapore Hotel.

Andaz is the boutique-inspired hotel brand by Hyatt Hotels & Resort, with a unique concept in which every Andaz hotel will be infused by the cultures of its locale. The first Andaz Hotel in the South-east Asian region, its interiors were designed by award-winning Hong Kong architect and interior designer Andre Fu and his design studio AFSO.

Occupying the 25th to the 39th floor, the hotel’s 342 guestrooms and F&B outlets took their design directive from the island’s distinctive architecture, the shophouse and its alleyways. Guest rooms sport zesty colour palettes of mustard yellow and aubergine, and feature shophouse doors in bold mango yellow and floor-to-ceiling ivory panelling.

Our island’s fame for its diverse food culture is not put to shame with the dining options offered at Andaz. Conceived as the hub of the hotel, Alley on 25 comprises of five dining eateries, a lounge and a bar. Each are housed within uniquely designed “shophouses” that offer different cuisines – dim sum and Szechuan fare at Auntie’s Wok and Steam, barbecue specialities at Smoke & Pepper, and locally inspired cocktails at Bar Square, are just some of the tasty treats one can expect.

Asked what sets Andaz apart from other hotel experiences, designer Andre says: “The Andaz experience goes beyond the superficial adaptation of local elements and decorative motifs, and immerses guests in an experience that captures the spirit of the city.”

With its heart-stopping views, tropical settings and tantalising gourmet spread, the curated experience at Andaz is bound to make any guest fall in love with the island we call home.
