Fun and creative meeting or event spaces are hard to find, but Huone (say hu-won-eh) was recently launched in Singapore to fill this gap in the market. Conceptualised in Finland, the award-winning brand recently opened a 20,000sqf venue in Clarke Quay. There are 11 themed rooms, which can be rented on demand for groups of up to 150 people.

The brain child of Evon Soderlund, Huone was first launched in 2012 in Helsinki, where it has been recognised as the “best event venue in Finland”. Evon partnered with Joewin Tan, who runs an events management business, to offer an inspiring location here for businesses and individuals to host board meetings, team building sessions, product launches, social events and more. In particular, three of the uniquely designed rooms have Finnish themes – Igloo, Cottage and Forest.

Other rooms include the Swing room with a treehouse, the Theatre room that is inspired by the Moulin Rouge, and the Runway room with a catwalk. Some rooms also have balconies, which make for great breakout areas.

Each has been designed with lots of thought, says Joewin, integrating a good audio system and soundproofing acoustics. Prices for this all-in-one concept start from $80 per person for half a day, with rooms being subjected to a minimum charge.

HUONE SINGAPORE IS AT #03-01, 3D RIVER VALLEY ROAD, CLARKE QUAY, TEL: 8368-6373.
