Approximately one million households in Singapore use gas for cooking as it is economical and allows for more even heat distribution, ensuring well-cooked, tasty meals. How do you ensure your home and family’s safety, and prevent accidents from happening?
City Gas, Singapore’s sole piped town gas provider to about 800,000 households, recently customised and developed a gas detector that can help detect any potential gas leak. The gas detector is able to detect piped town CITY GAS SPECIAL gas, cylinder Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or natural gas — types of gases commonly used in Singapore households. Once detected, an alarm will sound and trigger messages to alert the homeowners, who should immediately ventilate the home by opening windows and doors, and call City Gas’ 24-hour emergency hotline at 1800-752-1800.
Manufactured in Japan and tested to meet the standards of Japan Gas Appliances Inspection Association, the sleek device can be installed easily and fits seamlessly into any kitchen or service yard, thanks to its sleek measurements of 70mm by 62mm by 28.7mm.
The gas detector includes up to five-year warranty at an additional cost of $20, and City Gas also offers a one-for-one product exchange, subject to terms and conditions.
