Elsa Peretti’s classic Bone cuff might be 50 years old, but it’s looking snazzier with a special edition in vibrant green, red and blue.

Seen on Angelina Jolie, Margot Robbie and Kate Winslet, Tiffany & Co.’s Bone cuff is a modern classic that’s become associated with female empowerment. Gal Gadot even wears a yellow gold Bone cuff in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 movie.

Launching this month to commemorate 50 years, the Bone cuff now comes in sleek new copper renditions with vibrant red, blue and green metallic finishes, each inscribed with the words “special edition.”

The high gloss colours were chosen to reflect the rich colour hues seen in designer Elsa Peretti’s portfolio, giving this iconic piece of jewellery a bold and playful update, without compromising on its pure, sensual lines.

The legendary Italian designer first came up with the design for the Bone cuff in the early ’70s, when America was in the midst of women pushing for equal rights. Seen as a revelation then – it was made in silver, which was rarely used in fine jewellery at the time, and had neither stones nor flourishes – it’s now viewed as a classic.

Intended to be worn as a pair – with a left and right version for each arm – the cuff has undulating edges at the top and bottom, and is contoured to fit over the wrist bone, with an ergonomic sensuality that’s a signature of Peretti’s work.

Says Peretti for the new launch: “I have always been interested in the mechanics and its feel: Every jewellery piece should be captivating and comfortable to wear.” The Bone cuff certainly ticks both boxes. $780 each.
