Favourite hang-out: Tess bar & kitchen (38 seah street, tel: 6337-7355, www.Tessbar.com)
I discovered this restaurant through a media event, and I was immediately smitten. I love the food and drinks, and how unpretentious the place is. At one point, I was there every weekend! For further proof of how much of a regular I am: The kitchen staff off er me their staff meal when I say I’m hungry. Oops.
Essential app: n+tc nike training club
I exercise four to five times a week – doing mostly circuits, and I get bored fast – so this app is a winner. It features hundreds of workouts at various intensities, and is regularly updated so you never have to endure any monotony. I’m always completely wiped out after just 30 minutes of circuit training. I don’t know what I’d do without this!
On my playlist: drones by muse
Admittedly, their latest album Drones isn’t as good as some of their past stuff (Black Holes and Revelations will always be Muse’s best album for me), but it still packs the same kinds of thumping, singalong anthems that never fail to make me want to run a marathon. Of course, this album is on my workout playlist.
#Fangirl of: Real Madrid CF
Like every football fan, I have a love-hate relationship with my team (which I’ve supported for the past 13 years). They’re “the best ever” when they win championships, and “a complete embarrassment” when they don’t. Oh, but don’t try to diss them if you’re not a fan – only I get to do that. And yes, this is a healthy relationship.
Show obsession: Mr robot
I’m taking forever to watch this – mainly because there are only 10 episodes and I want to savour every one of them. Rami Malek plays Elliot, an antisocial cybersecurity engineer who “moonlights” as a vigilante hacker to take down big corporations. Sounds heavy, but the plot is fascinating, and what I really love are Elliot’s inner monologues, which stop this from being an otherwise regular sci-fi drama. As for Rami Malek – what a cutie!
