THE YARD

Think of The Yard as a gym for the entire family, a refreshing option for corporate team building activities, or a place to get fit and fab at the same time.

The 20,000sqft hub is Singapore’s first multi-specialist, Olympic- standard sporting facility that offers parkour, trampolining, personal fitness classes and gymnastics (vaulting tables, rings, pommel horses— the works) all under one roof.

You can even get a pampering mani-pedi at their Nail Bar while sipping a fresh green juice in the Member’s Lounge.

THE HUB

The way we work has changed, and so have the spaces. Enter The Hub, pioneers of co-working in Singapore, who have opened their second and newest outpost at Cuppage Terrace.

The 10-row heritage shophouse, designed by the award-winning team behind Facebook and Twitter’s local headquarters, boasts spacious meeting rooms and working stations, a café, nap areas, a lounge to bounce ideas during Happy Hour and more.

COO

It’s always a haute new hotel or a freshly minted It café—never both, until now. Fringing the cultural enclave of Tiong Bahru, COO is Singapore’s first “sociatel” brand, which synergises a chic hostel, casual bistro and social spaces to engage and connect tourists and locals with an eclectic design state of mind.

KIKKI.K & THRIVE

Arianna Huffington’s book, Thrive, easily tops the list of personal guides to living and building a life you love any day.

Inspired by her beautiful tenacity and journey to media mogul status, kikki.K has launched a limited edition paperback of the book alongside a matching set of perfectly pastel notebooks for you to pen down your inspirations, goals and game plans, just like Huffington would.

Take a page out of her book and list down “listen to inner voice” and “sleep more” first.

MY CULTURAL LIFE: GINA RODRIGUEZ

The actress, who stars in the new film Deepwater Horizon, shares her culture list.

First favourite movie

Dirty Dancing. I started dancing at a young age, and the mix of dancing and acting blew my mind. I was in love with Patrick Swayze. I learnt all the routines, and God forbid I met a man who could dance—I want wanted him to lift me high like he did Jennifer Grey.

Guilty pleasures Justin Bieber, eating red velvet cupcakes, and staying home and watching movies with someone I love. Currently reading My Brilliant Friend, by Elena Ferrante.

Favourite actors of all time Meryl Streep, Rita Morena, Javier Bardem, and Tom Hardy. I get lost in the characters they play, and I believe that a bit of who they really are exists in all of them.

On repeat I do a playlist for every movie I make and listen to it over and over again. Right now I’m listening to James Blake, James Bay, Beyoncé, Hamilton, Tinie Tempah, the Chainsmokers, and Shawn Mendes—that little kid can sing.

Favourite artists Esteban del Valle, Salvador Dali, Vincent van Gogh, and Henri Matisse. Favourite architect Frank Lloyd Wright. When I was little, we would go tour his houses around Chicago, and ever since then I’ve wanted a Frank Lloyd Wright home.

Comic relief My dad. Everything that comes out of his mouth makes me laugh. He is such a storyteller, and he isn’t afraid to speak his mind.
