TAKE CLEANSING BEYOND ONE STEP

We know what you’re thinking: Why complicate something so basic? But instead of seeing Cle de Peau Beaute’s seven-piece Pure White Cleansing Series ($40-$90) as troublesome, why not see it as a one-stop solution that not only gets rid of dirt and makeup, but also promotes cell turnover and preps skin for all the other products that’ll follow?

For starters, there are towelettes and liquid makeup remover (choose one) to wipe off eye and lip colour. Then there’s the cleansing milk and cream oil that get rid of foundation (again, take your pick). For facial wash, there’s the clarifying foam for oily skin, and a softening version for all other skin types. And the last, we have to admit, is an add-on: a clay scrub that clears stubborn dead surface cells (to be used once or twice weekly). Like getting a froyo, customise according to your needs, then enjoy. Every product boasts the exclusive Illuminating Complex EX that hydrates, reportedly strengthens skin’s protective barrier, and brightens so your complexion feels smoother – so simple. Flip over and Female makes things even easier by breaking down what to use according to skin type. – MSY

For sensitive skin:

Eye and Lip Makeup Remover Towelettes ($40)

+ Gentle Cleansing Milk ($90)

+ Softening Cleansing Foam ($89)

+ Cleansing Clay Scrub ($89)

If your eyelids tend to get irritated easily, go for the towelettes as they remove makeup quickly yet gently without fuss. The cleansing milk and softening cleanser both get rid of dirt and foundation, while keeping skin hydrated. You should try the scrub, but limit it to once weekly to avoid overstimulating the complexion.

For dry skin:

Eye and Lip Makeup Remover ($65)

+ Cleansing Cream Oil ($90)

+ Softening Cleansing Foam ($89)

+ Cleansing Clay Scrub ($89)

The cream-to-oil cleanser not only dissolves heavy foundation, but also has moisturising ingredients to keep skin plump. The Softening Cleansing Foam boasts a creamy texture that doesn’t strip away moisture, and the scrub can be used as often as twice weekly (cut it down to once if skin gets slightly irritated or dry).

For oily to combination skin:

Eye and Lip Makeup Remover ($65)

+ Gentle Cleansing Milk ($90)

+ Clarifying Cleansing Foam ($89)

+ Cleansing Clay Scrub ($89)

The lightweight cleansing milk has a dewy, serum-like texture that feels fresh, while the Clarifying Cleansing Foam gets rid of excess oil and refines the appearance of enlarged pores. To prevent sebum build-up that can lead to clogged pores, exfoliate at least twice weekly with the scrub.
