“We’d love to plan a wedding with a modern, minimalist theme featuring lots of sleek and clean lines. The colour scheme would be all-white, and it would involve different non-floral materials such as mirrors, acrylic, glass, marble, fabric or even paper. One of the event stylists we admire is Gideon Hermosa from the Philippines, especially for his ability to transform any venue with flair and class. Locally, we love the works of Fiore Dorato and CC Lee Design.
It’s not easy to find unconventional wedding venues in Singapore. For a modern-minimalist look, we would go for a location that offers a “clean canvas” to be transformed. Interesting venues include art galleries and warehouses. MOCA@Loewen comes to mind.
As for the bridal gown, we would go for one with intricate details or a bold couture gown to contrast with the clean lines of the decor. Recently, we’ve been intrigued by the fashion house Ralph & Russo, who created the gown Meghan Markle wore for her engagement portraits. Our go-to boutiques for designer gowns are The Proposal Bridal and Belle and Tulle. Another great place that offers rental of designer gowns is Truly Enamoured.”

“After working on weddings for a couple of years, when it came to designing my own, it was a huge challenge. I’m my biggest critic and there are so many brilliant and talented vendors I admire and look up to. Some, I have the honour to call friends and work closely with. If I could do my wedding all over again, I wouldn’t want to change a thing. But if I could add these details into my actual wedding, it would’ve been even better.
Our theme was organic, neutral and elegant. We wanted the wedding to be about the people we love, so the set-up was minimal because we wanted to give time and attention to the people around us. We had our wedding solemnisation at a church and our banquet at Conrad hotel. If there was one thing we wish we did, it would be to hold one more in Perth. It’s where my husband proposed and a place we call our second home.
I would have also liked to have set a portion of the wedding in a forest or garden in Perth. I love the idea of a cosy, forest wedding (I love trees!). It would have been an intimate celebration with just our closest family and friends. The main design elements include bulb lights, texture from fabric and leaves, and lots of plants! The furniture would have included raw wooden benches and wooden tables.”
