According to holistic health counsellor and functional nutritionist Dr Alisa Vitti, most periods can be described in three ways: frozen blueberries, strawberry jam and cranberry juice.

“Frozen blueberries” indicate aboveaverage oestrogen levels, which might mean the uterus lining could be thicker than normal and is causing heavier cycles.“Strawberry jam” points to low oestrogen levels, which can result in vaginal dryness, low libido and hair loss.

Everything is pretty nice and normal with “cranberry juice”, but women with these periods are prone to PMS, which is not normal and suggests hormonal imbalance.
