How we’re falling behind in the bedroom by not getting head.
As the saying goes, “You get what you give”. But those words don’t quite hold true for us girls, especially in the bedroom. While a 1994 Kinsey summary reported that oral sex was becoming more common, recent research published by the University of Guelph found that more men than women are on the receiving end of oral sex.
Depressingly, the reason why may have more to do with women’s attitudes towards getting head than men’s attitudes towards giving it. In the report, the authors wrote, “Women indicated that they would not be comfortable receiving oral sex from a partner... due to feelings of self-consciousness about the way they smelled.”
The moral of the story? Maybe it’s time to hang up our hang-ups, once and for all. After all, aren’t we just short-changing ourselves by constantly looking the proverbial gift horse in the metaphorical mouth?
