Here’s what you need to know about the highly-anticipated movie that’s hitting the big screens this month. 

1 Emma Watson sings in the movie

And she sounds damn good too. Which raises the question – is there anything she can’t do?!

2 Notable names in the cast include Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson

Just that you won’t see their faces. They will be voicing Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs Potts, respectively.

3 Singing “Hakuna Matata” was part of the audition process

When director Bill Condon was pondering over who to cast, he made the actors perform “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King to determine how good their singing was. 

“We created a backstory for [Belle]... she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and read instead.” – Emma Watson.

Luke Evans, who plays Gaston, claims the cast covered him in rose petals to stop him from singing. Guess we’ll have to watch the movie to judge…
