Manta Matters

Located near a unique dive site called Hithadhoo Corner in the Maldives, Six Senses Laamu has worked with Ocean Dimensions and The Manta Trust since 2014 to support conservation efforts for mantas and their habitat. Recently, The Manta Trust designed a PADI specialty course to be offered at the resort. ‘The Maldivian Manta Ray Conservation Specialty’course includes two dives at Hithadhoo Corner and in-depth training in manta biology, global threats, behaviour, photo identification and image cataloguing. Guests can also become a ‘Researcher for the Day’ by joining The Manta Trust team for their dives, while learning about how to dive sustainably with the magnificent creatures.
