Yoga Style

For the eco-minded yogini, Six Senses has partnered with Ana Heart of London to create yoga clothes that are both functional and fashionable. Designed to move effortlessly with the body, the collection is made of high-quality fabrics such as Supima cotton and lyocell. The latter is a sustainable fibre made from wood pulp in a closed-loop process, which recovers all solvent emissions thanks to nanotechnology; the result is a crease-resistant and biodegradable fabric. Currently available in charcoal, white and indigo, the made-in-Europe garments feature a feminine yet edgy look that makes them trendy essentials both on and off the mat. www.sixsenses.com

I Care

Honouring the work of three remarkable female conservationists, Chantecaille’s Mermaid Matte Eye Trio comprises three new shades: neutral brown Bee, smoky grey Elephant and soft vanilla Lion. To bring awareness to the threats these animals face in Africa, the lids are decorated with motifs of the species, and five per cent of proceeds are donated to the Elephants and Bees Foundation, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Lion Guardians. The velvety formula is water resistant and has a silky texture, while its matte tones offer the perfect base for a modern, natural look. www.chantecaille.com

Going Green

Just opened in February, Kandima Maldives offers a playful and responsible guest experience with the use of advanced technology. Instead of printed collaterals, guests have access to the Kandima app for room service, reminders, promotions and travel tips. Interactive systems such as the RFID wristband and Silverware AVRIO sales system recognise guests as they arrive at restaurants and recommends favourites based on their purchase history. All rooms are also fitted with smart room controls to detect guests’ presence to save energy, while hot water is generated from the heat of the waste generator. In addition, water waste is reused for toilets and gardening, glass is recycled and food composted on-site. www.kandima.com
