For a quiet retreat, Hotel Belle Epoque in the charming German spa town is nestled at the foot of the Black Forest, and just five minutes away from the Caracalla Spa.

Prepare for a fairy tale-like setting as you enter the 19th-century villa – built in 1874 by Duke

Ferdinand von Lotzbeck, the hotel now welcomes guests to discover the splendour of the Belle Époque in the restored mansion. Most of the villa’s original features have been retained, including the grand staircase and serene garden with ambient water features.

There are 20 guest rooms and suites, each fitted with sophisticated and antique furniture to recreate a different era of the Belle Époque. Some of the suites are even named after historic characters such as Marie Antoinette, Louis XIV and Napoleon III. Feel extra special when you stay in a suite, where you can delight in homemade pralines and French champagne in your Jacuzzi.

During the warmer months, enjoy the sunshine in the hotel’s manicured garden with a refreshing drink, or visit the nearby Caracalla thermal baths, which span over 4,000sqm, including a Roman sauna area, bathing pools and a beautiful castle garden. The town centre is also a short stroll away, with the main historical and cultural sights within easy reach. If you’re feeling lazy or simply want to spend a relaxing day at the hotel, arrange a romantic bath or massage in your room, or book the traditional afternoon tea and enjoy it in the elegant salon – just as the aristocrats once did.
