MARINEMAX HAS JOINED forces with SeaNet and its owner Yvan Eymieu for the distribution of Aquila Power Catamarans throughout the world excluding China, where the builder has a factory in Fuyang.

Eymieu, who has been appointed Aquila’s International Sales and Distribution Manager, moved to China in 2005 and has been working in the yachting industry, also in Hong Kong, since 2007, covering charter sales, private sales and regional distribution.

Lex Raas of MarineMax said: “We are very excited to be joining forces with SeaNet and Yvan. Well established in the United States, the Aquila brand is now becoming successful in other countries such as Australia and Singapore.

“With 90 Aquilas sold and the 100th unit now on the production floor, Yvan’s extensive experience with catamarans and especially power cats will certainly be valuable as MarineMax sells Aquila globally. We are currently considering adding a 60ft Aquila and a 29ft Aquila to the existing 36ft, 44ft and 48ft lines.”

Eymieu is a graduate of the Arsenal Université of Toulouse and the London Business School, can speak French, English and basic Mandarin, and will be based in Hong Kong and Thailand. His blue water experience includes sailing from the Mediterranean to the West Indies in 2015 to 2016.

Frank Xiong, CEO of Sino Eagle Yachts, the builder of Aquila catamarans, said: “I am looking forward to working with MarineMax and Yvan as we move into the next phase of growth for Aquila. He is extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally personable and I know he will bring tremendous success to our venture.”
