STUNNING MEGAYACHTS LINED UP FOR MONACO

THE 92M Aquarius, a 2017 build by Dutch builder Feadship, was set to be the longest yacht at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (September 27-30) at Port Hercules, where 10 models over 70m were included in the provisional line-up of 125 superyachts.

The 85m Areti by German shipyard Lurssen, the 74m Cloud 9 by Italy’s CRN and a 74m build by Dutch yard Amels were other 2017 models among the 70m-plus megayachts in the list revealed by show organisers in August.

The 69m Game Changer, also launched this year, and the 67m Fast Support Vessel 6711, both built by Dutch shipyard Damen, were the next-longest models followed by Benetti’s 67m Seasense, which will be making her world premiere.

Among Italian shipyards, Sanlorenzo will stage the world premiere of its first 52Steel, Seven Sins, along with a 460Exp, SD126 and SL118, while Rossinavi will display two major builds from this year – the 49m Aurora and the 50m Endeavour II.

Azimut Yachts will display its Grande 27 Metri and Grande 35 Metri after their worldwide premieres in Cannes, while Ferretti Group’s Custom Line will showcase its Navetta 37 and Navetta 33.

Monte Carlo Yachts, the Italian shipyard owned by the Beneteau Group, will showcase its new MCY 96 and its flagship MCY 105.

British shipyard Sunseeker – which has built 120 yachts over 100ft since 2001 – will exhibit its 95, 116 and 131 Yachts along with its Sunseeker Collection merchandise.

UAE-based Gulf Craft will showcase the Majesty 100 and 110 after exhibiting the same two yachts at Cannes, while Taiwan’s Horizon Yacht will present the second hull of FD85 after its European debut in Cannes.

After three years of construction, the redeveloped Darse Nord zone will return and feature Quai Albert 1er, a 1,800sqm exhibition tent including a Starboard exhibition area for superyacht lifestyle, a Car Deck presenting about 15 luxury vehicles and a new Tenders & Toys Show.

Other event highlights include the second edition of the Monaco Yacht Summit for about 400 exclusive guests.
