FOR A DIFFERENT WAY TO NAVIGATE the waters in the Maldives, COMO Hotels and Resorts is offering a new luxury experience aboard the 68ft Hatteras yacht Cameron. Using this live-aboard vessel, guests can dip in and out of COMO’s two resorts – COMO Cocoa Island and COMO Maalifushi – to experience two quite different atolls.

Intimate COMO Cocoa Island, situated in the South Malé Atoll, offers 33 overwater suites surrounded by a private reef, with some of the world’s best diving opportunities just off the soft white sand. Thaa Atoll is home to COMO Maalifushi, among a string of uninhabited islands. As well as COMO Shambhala therapies and world-class cuisine, guests can also enjoy near-exclusive access to some of the archipelago’s best surf, diving and snorkelling opportunities. Between the two resorts there is a night’s easy sailing onboard Cameron, incorporating cobalt waters and white-sand islets.

Usually anchored at COMO Maalifushi, Cameron is available to charter for a few hours, or can be booked for multi-night itineraries to catch a specific wave, a whale shark migration, or for an extended honeymoon adventure. Staff are personalised to each excursion, be it chefs for picnics on marble-white sandbanks, or night dives requiring a specialist instructor. Marine biologists can take children snorkelling, while the sport-fishing guides can help land tuna, wahoo, marlin or sailfish spotted from the yacht’s 40ft tower.

Cameron can reach a top speed of 32 knots. There is an air-conditioned flybridge, as well as a polished walnut-lined lounge. The three luxurious cabins are configured as a master suite, queen and twin – all with en-suite bathrooms.

COMO Maalifushi in Maldives’ Thaa Atoll has launched a series of exciting dining initiatives with the oversight of newly appointed Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage Robert Shipman.

These include the private castaway dining experience on Lavadhoo – a small uninhabited island only 10 minutes by boat from COMO Maalifushi – where guests can enjoy small group lunches or romantic dinners in private.
