GERMAN SHIPBUILDER LÜRSSEN delivered on May 14 the 156m yacht Dilbar – the largest motor yacht in the world by gross tonnage.

With a gross tonnage of 15,917 tonnes, Dilbar provides a large amount of space in the interior, which has never been seen on any yacht before. Her indoor pool holds 180m3 of water and is the largest pool to be built on a yacht. Her diesel electric power plant of 30,000kW is the largest to be installed on any yacht and allows her to operate at a continuous speed of 22.5 knots. A total surface of 10,000sqm has been faired and painted. More than 1,100km of cabling has been fitted.

Under clear guidance and leadership of the Owner, the general arrangement and exterior design was developed by Monaco-based luxury yacht designer Espen Øino, who has given Dilbar a timeless classical profile that is underlined by the light ivory colour of the hull and the bronze accents.

Her interior design was created at the Andrew Winch Design office in London. Unique mixes of rare and striking materials give her an extraordinary look and feel.

“Building Dilbar was a great challenge and we are proud of this achievement, especially considering the contract time of only 52 months. She represents another exceptional milestone in not only our history, but in yachting history as well,” says Shipyard Managing Partner Peter Lürssen.
