THE SIXTH EDITION OF the China Macau International Yacht Import & Export Fair (Macau Yacht Show) will return to Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, where visitors can experience this yacht event with the theme “Ocean Environment & Technology”.

Initiated in 2011, the Macau Yacht Show has grown over five years. Last year the exhibition area exceeded 30,000sqm, including 3,500sqm of indoor exhibition area and 27,734sqm outdoors. There were 39 foreign exhibitors, accounting for 81.2% of the total, showing the internationalisation of the event.

The “One Belt, One Road” Macau High-Level Yacht Industry Forum gathered expert representatives of the yacht industry, elites and leaders of the financial community and senior yacht media to discuss the industry’s development direction and regional cooperation patterns in the context of “One Belt, One Road”, guiding China’s yacht industry to a more professional road of development. The Macau Yacht Show presented many activities: opening ceremony, “Ocean Aid” public benefit campaign, high-level forum, Gala Dinner, fashion show, OP Youth Yacht Race, test drives of yachts, Bikini Show, art exhibition and surfing show.

To promote the development of “Free Travel by Yacht”, Macau has made many efforts. In respect to marinas, it plans to construct three marinas in stages, including the sea area opposite the Seac Pai Van Wharf of Coloane, the sea area west of downtown Coloane and the sea area west of Taipa Ocean Garden. It’s estimated the sea area opposite the Seac Pai Van Wharf of Coloane can provide 50 berths; an exit and entry administration office will be set at the marina in Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, only for people entering or leaving Macau Special Administrative Region by yacht.

Macau Yacht Show is sponsored by Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, China National Machinery Industry Corporation, co-organised by Nam Kwong Group International Convention & Exhibition Co., Ltd, China National Automotive Industry International Corporation, China Ocean Aviation Group Limited, with great support from the Macau Special Administrative Region, the Central People’s Government’s Office in Macau Special Administrative Region, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

OceanAid is a large ocean protection campaign jointly initiated by the DSAMA, Nam Kwong Group and Macau Ecological Society in June 2016 to awaken public’s awareness of ocean environmental protection, appeal to everyone to actively participate in conserving the ocean. It will be held during the show to spread the idea of ocean environmental protection among the visitors and guests in the exhibition. It will also go to the Domina Island of Indonesia to shoot an advertising video of ocean protection.
