Ray Charles’ ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’ was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June of 1962, the year the Riva Aquarama was launched.
I’ve made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times (I can’t stop wanting you)
It’s useless to say
So I’ll just live my life in dreams of yesterday (Dreams of yesterday)
Those happy hours that we once knew
Though long ago, they still make me blue
They say that time heals a broken heart
But time has stood still since we’ve been apart
Lyrics from I Can’t Stop Loving You, Ray Charles, 1962
Ray Charles’ ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’ was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June of 1962, the year the Riva Aquarama was launched.
A total of 784 Aquaramas and its variants – Super, Special, Lungo – were built from 1962 to 1996, when this photo of an Aquarama Super was taken in Saint-Tropez.
Former Riva boss Carlo Riva, who designed the Aquarama and many other iconic Riva yachts, passed away in April at the age of 95. Love for his designs lives on.
