The poppy’s story was far from complete with the original fragrance. Over the years, there’ve been many renditions of it. In 2015, to celebrate its 15th anniversary, Alberto Morillas created FlowerByKenzo L’Elixir. A gourmand (it has “edible” notes) and floral fragrance, it opens with raspberry, settles into the signature Bulgarian rose and orange blossom, and the base is praline and bourbon vanilla. The bottle has the same shape as the original, but it’s dressed up in deep red with a touch of gold. The latest to join the family – with a May 2017 launch date# – is FlowerByKenzo Eau de Lumière, which is inspired by light. Alongside Bulgarian rose, there’s radiant jasmine sambac, a flash of bergamot, and honey notes. This time, the poppy on the bottle is coral, not red, to emphasise its radiance and light.
