Graphic designer Belinda Lee, 46, and business administration graduate Ng Su May, 26, started the brand because Singapore, strangely, is not the best country for a variety of swimwear – especially for less-than-youthful women.
“Being older and a mum with teenage boys, I know my string bikini days are over, and I want coverage in all my problem areas,” says Lee. “Finding swimwear that does that and looks fashionable is a real challenge.”
So she hooked up with Ng, whom she met while studying for a diploma in fashion technology at Taf.tc, and founded Pinksalt for chic, comfortable and modest swimsuits. The label was launched online at http://www.pinksaltswim.co last month.
“We use thicker polyester/spandex with less Lycra for a more snug, secure fit that supports and shapes the body better,” says Ng. From $109 to $159.
