BEST GUY

Daniel Teo is working towards his degree in Fashion Studies at Seoul’s Kookmin University. The 23-year-old channels the understated and timeless look of his style icon, American actor James Dean, but all in black. His idea of a cool outfit? Sunglasses that suit your face, a pair of clean shoes (yes, clean – dirty ones look sloppy, he says), and a statement jacket. “It is about knowing what works for you and what doesn’t. Once you’ve got that, everything comes naturally.” More of his looks at @danieldeyi.

“YOU CAN PUT A RIDICULOUSLY DORKY OUTFIT ON SOMEONE WHO OOZES ‘COOLNESS’ AND HE OR SHE CAN MAKE IT WORK.”

BEST GIRL

“To me, being ‘cool’ is more of an attitude than a style of dressing,” says 21-year-old Naomi Tham. “Think Alexa Chung – she isn’t afraid of expressing who she is. She doesn’t necessarily wear the trendiest outfits all the time, but she always looks cool. Always.” Naomi’s own trick to looking cool is sticking to basic pieces that she knows look good on her – confidence is key. Some of her essentials include a white slip dress, ripped-at-the-knee black jeans, and a bomber jacket. More #ootds at @naomitham_.

BEST PHOTOGRAPHER

The reason Hayden Chan got into street-style photography eight years ago had, surprisingly, nothing to do with fashion – or people. It started with his love for travel, and needing a way to capture his adventures by taking photos of people on the street. “A good photo is one that tells a story, one that can be felt more than seen,” says the 21-year-old.
