One day late last year, I was with the lovely ladies from Netflix, and asked what show I should be watching next.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race,” they suggested.
While any show that uses the term “sashay away” is right up my alley, I told them I wasn’t sure I could get it around my boyfriend.
“Black Mirror,” they said, nodding their heads vigorously. “It’s amazing... Weird, but amazing.”
So that night, we sat down to watch what can only be described as one of the most disturbing and yet oddly fascinating TV shows I have ever seen.
I’ve had some seriously deep conversations because of it, and it made me question what being glued to my phone is doing to me. Whether or not you’ve seen the series (and I definitely recommend it), our story “I’ll Just Google It” on p78 will definitely make you think. And make sure Facebook doesn’t have access to your phone’s microphone…
Speaking of things that have blown my mind – OUR COVER! Or should I say OUR COVERS! Ever since I first laid eyes on this treatment overseas, I’ve been dying to do a Singapore spin. Starring up-and-comer Jasmine Sim and some gorgeous new lip colours from LANEIGE, the results are just as dreamy as I hoped. I hope that by the time you read this, you’ve had way too much fun flipping and matching your favourite look, and hopefully finding some new beauty inspiration. If not, I highly recommend you start flipping back that way, stat!
Top 5 beauty inventions I’m shocked (and mostly pleased) were invented.
1. Two-tone lip bars
So nice they coloured it twice!
2. Lip Masks A collagen mask… for your lips?
Great selfie opp for a Kylie-esque pout while you wait for it to do its thing.
3. Foot Peels
The grossest, most satisfying product on the market, your old skin literally peels in sheets off your feet.
4. Sucker Massagers
According to japantrendshop. com, this device doesn’t hurt to use. The picture tells a different story. I feel like you’d deserve really plump skin from it.
5. Pigment Drops
You literally blend one to three drops of this highly pigmented product into your moisturiser for a customisable base. How has this not been invented earlier?!
